I’m the mom of two beautiful children. I have a 15 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. They are my world.

I am an alumni of Prairie View A&M University where I graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been in Education for 14 years. I have taught grades PK-4th Grade as well as I have been a reading and math interventionist for grades K-6th. I have also served as the technology coordinator and the technology integration specialist for my campus while I was a classroom teacher. My previous position was a Gifted and Talented Coordinator/Educational Technology Specialist. I am currently a 3rd Grade Math/Science Teacher at Townley Elementary which was the missing piece to my educational experience puzzle to expand my horizon and wealth of knowledge.

I have developed an extreme passion for technology implementation and blended learning. I enjoy bringing life to lessons and creating innovative ways for teachers to become facilitators and students to take ownership of their learning. I enjoy teaching students how to make multimedia presentations and other technology application skills that will help them to be productive innovators.

MATH INNOVATION ZONE TEA Grant Writer

I just received my Masters of Education Degree in Educational Technology Leadership and hope to use degree to bridge the gap between teaching the standards and integrating relevant and meaningful technology. I just recently embarked on the journey of writing a Math Innovation Zone grant for TEA (Texas Education Agency). Math Innovation Zones (MIZ) supports school districts and open-enrollment charter schools in the expansion of blended learning instructional models in math by defining, supporting, and scaling a high-fidelity of implementation of the model.

Math Innovation Zone Award Letter

All 2019-2020 MIZ Districts received a planning grant to assist in the planning of Math Innovation Zones in the spring of 2019. All 2019-2020 grantees that fulfill the fidelity of planning requirements for Math Innovation Zones will receive an additional grant to implement the program in the fall of 2019. I am currently the TEA MIZ District Project Manager for Inspired Vision Academy overseeing the implementation of the grant requirements.
